The Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 replaces the Indian Evidence Act and provides modern rules for admissibility of evidence, digital evidence, burden of proof, presumptions, statements, and testimonies. It aims to simplify and strengthen the evidentiary system in criminal and civil cases.
Civil Procedure Code & Limitation Act
The Civil Procedure Code (CPC) lays down the rules for filing suits, jurisdiction, pleadings, trials, appeals, and execution of decrees in civil cases. The Limitation Act sets the time limits within which legal actions must be filed. Together, they ensure fair, orderly, and timely civil justice.
